Most banks offer the possibility to download bank statements in PDF or CSV formats. Neither option is great if you're looking to make sense of your own payment transactions or want to migrate your data to a third party service or app. We built a nifty tool that allows people and companies to download a copy of their bank statements in JSON format. It's absolutely free to use and supports more than 900 banks in Europe.

1. Sign up to Nordigen's open banking portal 2. Go to My Account Data , select “Connect New Bank” 3. Choose your country, select your bank 4. Give consent that Nordigen can retrieve your account data 5. Go to My Account Data , and click on to see available download options 6. Choose to download your Account Transactions, Account Details or Account Balances in JSON

Nordigen is a licensed account information service provider that connects to official bank APIs in Europe and provides free access to banking data in Europe. Nordigen has built integrations with major European banks ( see full bank and country coverage here ) and allows developers and corporations to use its API free of charge to retrieve user-consented account data, such as account holder's name, account numbers, transaction histories, account balances and more. All of this is possible due European regulation Payment Services Directive 2 (PSD2) that requires all European major banks to build free APIs, available to licensed institutions.
