ChatGPT, the popular artificial intelligence-powered bot, had been experiencing outages early on Thursday morning, according to tech giant OpenAI.
OpenAI’s status page indicated that it has received several reports of “elevated error rates” affecting ChatGPT as well as API, the company’s cloud-based interface that lets developers access the firm’s advanced AI models.
“We are currently experiencing elevated error rates in the API. We are currently investigating,” OpenAI wrote in a status message that was posted just before 4:00 a.m. Pacific Time on Thursday.
At 4:43 a.m. Pacific Time, OpenAI wrote: “This issue has now been resolved. Between 3:33 AM and 4:23 AM PST, customers experienced elevated error rates on ChatGPT and the API.”
It quickly became the fastest-growing consumer software, reaching 100 million users in two months and now handles over 1 billion messages daily with 300 million weekly active users.
