Le Richemond has to close indefinitely
The Geneva luxury hotel Le Richemond is suffering from the slump in guest numbers due to the coronavirus pandemic. It therefore closes its doors at the end of August. The management does not provide a date for the reopening.

The corona virus crisis had had a catastrophic effect on luxury tourism in Geneva. And the decision to temporarily close the hotel turned out to be the only solution. The hotel management announced on Wednesday.
The closure of the borders and the loss of flight connections would have proven to be insurmountable obstacles. They would have drastically reduced the number of tourists in Geneva. These are the main reasons why a reopening is not conceivable in the short or medium term, it said.
