Light is the source of all presence and generates meaning: it reveals the essential. Everything that light creates casts a shadow, and the shadow belongs to the light. The shadow originates to hide the superfluous. Silence is aspiration for expression. Order promotes this continuous interplay of immeasurable balances.
Photography, through light, shadow, silence and order is an extraordinary means to help a human being enter the Self. It is an introspective process that made me realize the enormous spiritual deficiency that Western humanity has inflicted on the inner world.
The last century has been dominated by a competition between two ideologies: Marxism and capitalism. Despite their apparent contradiction, both were founded on a belief in science and reason as tools for dominating the outer world. The outer, material world, completely separated from the inner, spiritual world was the object of conquest in order to improve human living conditions.
According to the World Health Organization, nearly one billion people suffer from depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, isolation, dementia, drug and alcohol use, schizophrenia, and eating disorders. Every forty seconds, one person commits suicide due to mental health issues.
