Bad Bunny named composer of the year
Puerto Ricans Bad Bunny and Daddy Yankee and New Yorker Romeo Santos were recognized this Tuesday with the Latin Music Awards from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Editors (ASCAP), for being responsible for the most widespread themes in the last year in their social networks.
Bad Bunny was named the "ASCAP Composer of the Year," while Romeo Santos took the "Composer / Artist of the Year Award" at the start of a three-day virtual celebration that started this Tuesday and lasted until July 9.
Additionally, Daddy Yankee and Snow's song “Con Calma” received the song of the year award, Universal Music Publishing won the editor of the year award, and the award for independent publisher of the year went to Kobalt Songs Music Publishing.
The virtual ceremony, with the Colombian Greeicy Rendon as the host, includes the musical performances of great stars such as Marc Anthony, Descemer Bueno, Pedro Capó, Desmond Child, Jhay Cortez and Darrell.
