Okay, so for well over 8 years I am using Linux on dedicated servers to run my websites. When I first created my own PHP based website - back when JQuery was the de-facto standard in JavaScript and Node was still in v0.x territory and things like Electron didn't even remotely exist - I was faced with the reality of having to learn Linux in the sense of a server administrator. Just a single node, and just a few single, simple things. Over the years I grew very fond of how Linux worked on my servers and have had no issues with things such as dependency tracking, editing config files, automating certain tasks and triggers and even writing my own init.d and systemd units as needed. But at some point, I wanted to switch to Linux after having become tired of macOS (Mac OS X back then) and looked for distributions that were specifically designed for people with visual impairments. And I found one: Vinux (Wayback Maschine, mid-2014)

Back when I tried it, it was still based on - I think? - an Ubuntu 9.x release. I do remember a GNOME2-ish layout as well, but it's quite a long time ago so I could be mistaking it for XFCE or something entirely different. But, it was... working, somewhat. The font was bigger, Orca ran on startup and desktop magnification was also available ontop of that. It was actually great! However, my potato PC back then was, well, shit. So I never ended up installing it.
