Now the goal is to make PS2, VGA intergration to Vmon and have this bare minimum for OpenFest where interested people to learn the RISC-V architencture and instruction set will be able to build their very own One Euro RISC-V computer and play with it!

As CH32V003 have only 2K of RAM VGA resolution of 320×200 is possible in text mode 40×25 characters. The video will be generated without graphics video buffer, for the games user defined characters could be used.

Next week we will have prototypes, so if you are interesting to join the software development sent me email to info@olimex.com and I can mail you one!

Amazing idea! Will buy kit! 320×200 charset graphics is not bad. As ZX spectrum or msx1 computers or first mono gameboy games can be amazing as RiscV is more powerful. Maybe game studio (charset editor, C++ or pascal or basic language, buzzer 1bit speaker music). I hope in future Olimex will do also RiscV (allwinner D1 for example) mini itx linux board. Will switch to RiscV in work :D.

I keep my eye on RiscV SOC for a while but still can’t see proper chip. I saw D1 and even got one board with it, but it’s slower even than A13 😦 this is why I decided to start with this retro-like solution for people who are courious to explore Risc-V ISA. It’s more toy than computer, but this is how I learned computers 40 years ago :)))
