Discussion How many people are planning on leaving if their company makes them go back to the office at all? (self.datascience)
I'm currently at a consulting company doing work I enjoy for a reasonable salary. However, I'm moving states soon to enjoy a better climate and lower COLA as well as to be closer to family.
Additionally, I don't think I'd enjoy the job if I had to be there in person. The expectation is 45 hours a week. I usually do about 1-3 hours of coding/actual work a day and attend 1-3 hours of meetings. I'm told that I'm doing a fantastic job every review.
Once I've been able to attend meeting remotely able to blatantly browse reddit while absently listening for the 5 minutes of discussion that actually affects me, I can't go back.
I'm reasonably confident at finding another job like mine that's full remote if they let me go when I move, but I'm curious how many other folks are in the same boat.
