This Post will cover Connecting your Apple Security Research Device (SRD) to a Host, First Boot, Configuration Options, Prebuilt Binaries, Cryptex File System Installation and Code Signing for macOS X86_64. Estiamted reading time 10 minutes.

DO NOT USE YOUR iCLOUD ACCOUNT. DO NOT ENTER ANY iCloud, Password, PIN, Recovery Number or anything but Wireless Network Info in the SRD.

Boot the SRD and walk thru the configuration. Bypass the iCloud, Password, PIN, Recovery Number or anything but Wireless Info and then (automagically) the iOS Home Screen springs to life on your SRD. With the SRD Booted, open Safari and check that you can Surf the Web. Next, it is time to attach the SRD to a Host.

This contrived example for installing a Cryptex File System on the SRD is done with an X86_64 Mac Pro Laptop running mOS 11.2.3.

If you want to work on the Command Line in Terminal and install a Cryptex File System, here are the steps to reach CLI RTFM Success below.
