A visitor from another planet looking at today’s news headlines may believe the internet to be the most destructive thing ever invented.
From roaming groups of extremists spreading their message of hate to questions about the veracity of simple facts, it appears that we are dealing with one of the worst inventions ever created.
Of course, because this is the internet, no consensus as to what the causes are exists. As of this writing, Google lists over 200 million results for a search on “internet original sins”, making it clear that people are concerned with the moral nature of this global network. But looking at all this data and organizing, it is not hard to find patterns to emerge, to discover 7 capital internet sins (I like to call them iSins) that underly every other issue:
