Visit to Ladakh is almost incomplete if one does not set their foot on the two of its famous lakes – Pangong Tso and Tso Moriri. ‘Tso’ means ‘Lakes’. There are almost more than ten lakes in the Ladakh region. But Pangong Tso and Tso Moriri stand out as the two most popular and famous lakes in Ladakh.

These magnificent and divine looking Tso’s or lakes never fail to provide joy and pristine experiences to the travellers. Sometimes all it takes to re-centre and rejuvenate one’s mind and body, staring into a tranquil blue sky or endless stretch of water. Do you want to witness both at the same time? Then these two lakes should be in your bucket list without fail. The beauty and serenity of the two lakes allure travellers from all around the world to this rustic paradise.

Pangong Tso, 222 km from Leh, is one of the highest altitude lakes in the world. It stands at an elevation of 14200 feet above sea level. The Pangong Tso is an endorheic lake, which means a landlocked lake. It can retain water without allowing outflow to any external water bodies such as rivers or seas. The Lake, spread across an area of 699 sq km, falls on the Sino-Indian Line of Actual Control. Therefore, all travellers require an Inner Line. Permit to visit the Pangong Tso.
