Most Outlook users are using the platform because of its integrations with the Microsoft suite combined with the ability to host a custom domain name on Outlook.com and create a custom email address with that email domain name.

Currently, with a Microsoft 365 Family or Microsoft 365 Personal subscription, you can create a personalized email address like yourname@example.com which is associated with your Outlook.com mailbox.

But it seems the option to add a personalized email address to your Outlook mailbox will be discontinued starting November 30th, 2023, according to a message Microsoft has been sending out to subscribers. A screenshot of this message was shared by Juliana Peña on Twitter.

Very sad to see that @Outlook is removing support for custom email address domains from their premium consumer product. I use this feature and it's been great to have, especially after Google killed off free Google Apps accounts earlier this year. pic.twitter.com/6VWUsYZOZH

Starting November 30, 2023, you will no longer be able to associate a new personalized email address (e.g. yourname@example.com) with your Outlook.com mailbox. If you already have a personalized email address set up, you will not be impacted by this change, and you can continue using it without any disruption in service. After November 30, 2023, if you choose to remove your existing personalized email address, you will be unable to add it back.
