Nutrition, health, decent living conditions, education, culture and entertainment. Give people means to have even the barely enough to live of these and you’ll see violence go down. Too many kids grow up seeing gangs dominate and the only “jobs” available being offered by the crime then what choice did they have? Society fails children too much. And none of the conservatives moral panic is responsible for this. The real responsible are the ones in power and the people that can do something and won’t do.
*It’s important to note that charity IS important while you can’t achieve social justice. The problem is, a lot of people will do their charity thing with one hand and vote or block social justice with the other. Because if there’s no charity there won’t be that fuzzy feeling in their hearts, they won’t be the white Jesus saving the poor people of color.
