Reliance Jio launched its new video conference app JioMeet, the app was launched with little fanfare on Thursday night. The app is available on Google Play and Apple store. After recent funding raising run of over $10 billion by the company, ‘JioMeet’ is the company’s new product entering the video conferencing app market.

JioMeet will compete with existing players in the market like Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams. The app launched looks a lot similar to the Zoom video conferencing app.

Like other video conferencing apps, JioMeet offers an unlimited number of free calls and supports up to 100 participants on a call. The app supports direct calls 1:1 and doesn’t impose any short duration limit on calls. Jio claims that consumers can use the free call feature for as long as 24 hours continuously.  Meetings support HD quality and users can create unlimited meetings per day.

At present, the app has no paid plans, and it’s unclear if the company will introduce any premium plans. A new user can sign up with his phone number or email ID. Meetings can be protected and have a waiting room feature.
