You’d think that a highly logical field such as programming would breed people with excellent argumentation skills. Then again, many of us got into this field so we wouldn’t have to deal with people as much.

But then you hopped onto social media to spread your hot takes and “superior” programming paradigms from your cushy distance, as if that would make you confident in the face of pushback.

But you’ve incurred my wrath! So hear me! Stop with the same, tired, “TDD is the best” arguments! The only people you’re convincing are impressionable new programmers who’ll believe anyone.

“TDD ensures that your code can detect regressions and gives you confidence that your code works properly.” This is technically true, but I see people bring this up as a rebuttal when someone is clearly questioning the test-first aspect only, as if to say, “What do you have against testing?” Nothing! Learn to comprehend what the other person is saying.

Many TDDers seem to have an inseparable association between the concept of testing, and the whole of TDD. Maybe they learned both at the same time, so they perceive an attack on one as the other. Stop it.
