As part of the Guardian’s 200th anniversary, we asked young people how the worst global pandemic in a century has affected their lives, hopes and dreams. Fifty from Europe’s Generation Z tell us how they see their future

For this project, the Guardian worked jointly with four other leading media groups in Europe; Le Monde, La Vanguardia, La Stampa, and Süddeutsche Zeitung in asking young people across Europe to respond to a reader callout seeking their experiences of the pandemic and how it has affected them.

We received responses from 16 to 25 year olds in 30 European countries. Most of the 50 featured in this interactive have been selected from these contributions, and some were shared by our partners. Some respondents asked for their views to be taken into account, but to remain anonymous.

The responses have been lightly edited for language, style and clarity. Surnames are not used where the respondents requested it.
