According to the changelog from NBMiner mining software, the tool can now unlock up to 70% of the original GPU mining performance of NVIDIA Lite Hash Rate GPUs. NVIDIA reintroduced its RTX 3080, 3070, and 3060 Ti GPUs with a new GPU revision that featured the same LHR algorithm that debuted with RTX 3060 back in February. This SKU, however, has been unlocked by NVIDIA themselves who ‘accidentally’ released a driver that removed the hash rate limiter.

All NVIDIA RTX 30 GPUs produced today with an exception of GeForce RTX 3090, feature an LHR limiter by default. This severely affects the mining capability and profitability of these cards. There were rumors that closed mining groups have been able to unlock LHR performance, but so far no real proof has been posted.

The NBMiner update does not unlock the mining performance of LHR chips. Instead, it offers an adjustable value that determines the maximum unlockable hash rate for a specific GPU. The developer suggests using 68%, which means that the GPU will offer not 50% by 68% of Ethereum mining using ethash algorithm exclusively (no other algorithm is currently supported).
