After tweeting a photo of herself with a can of Goya beans, White House adviser and first daughter Ivanka Trump has been the latest subject of scorn by critics of the Trump administration.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the anti-Trump Republican-led Lincoln Project, and the Democratic Coalition were among those who hit back at Trump after the photo.

Critics, including some in the media, also accused Trump of violating the federal ethics law, which bars employees from using their platform in public office to endorse a private product.

"Senior advisor to the President endorsing a product — using the company’s own advertising line," tweeted Chris Jansing of MSNBC. "Ethics rules do not allow it — and pretty much unimaginable in previous administrations."
