Over two years ago, Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the most anticipated games in history. It was subsequently released in a very hurried fashion and flopped after not meeting the expectations of millions of players worldwide. However, CD Projekt Red has been working hard since to try and salvage the game, and it seems its efforts are finally starting to pay off.

Following its gradual yet consistent rise from just a few days ago, Cyberpunk 2077 has finally topped the Steam sales chart, overtaking Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. This is an impressive feat considering the beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is currently available for a limited time, prompting everyone to download and play it.

Amidst all the chaos, Cyberpunk 2077 has somehow managed to bounce back stronger than ever. Almost two years ago, the game launched and was absolutely riddled with bugs and glitches. Now, after several massive patches, Cyberpunk 2077 has picked up some momentum. It even beat the Witcher 3 player record by hitting more than 100,000 concurrent players on September 24, 2022.

The main credit, however, for the rejuvenation of Cyberpunk 2077 goes to the hit Cyberpunk: Edgerunner anime Netflix series that is canon to the game's story.
