I love my Twitter feed, because I follow writers, editors and grammar sticklers who make my own level of obsession with language seem like a passing fancy. They’re also very clever, tweeting fanciful plays on words alongside biting commentary on lazy writers and spot-on advice for avoiding common usage errors.

Today, @grammarmonster shared this “twit-pic” of a spectacular “apostrophe fail.” Can you spot the four (count ’em, four!) apostrophe errors in the photo?

I actually cringed when I viewed this photo, the grammatical discord so powerful that I was motivated to write this blog post on a Saturday. So read and remember, and mind your use of apostrophes, lest you end up on @snarkygrammar‘s or @poorlyproofedNY‘s very public display of grammar offenders.

b. If the noun ends in an s, add an apostrophe after it. Ex.: Coach Jones’ attention was on his players when we snuck past the bench.
