US president Joe Biden had some tough words over recent state-sponsored and criminal ransomware attacks, suggesting that if the US were to end up in a "real shooting war" it would be because of a major cyberattack.
Biden's comments follow this month's REvil ransomware attack on the managed service provider (MSP) customers of US software vendor Kaseya that affected 60 MSPs and around 1,500 of their customers.
Today's security threats have expanded in scope and seriousness. There can now be millions -- or even billions -- of dollars at risk when information security isn't handled properly.
