The “MEMS based Motion Tracking System” records the movement of objects and people and offers an ultra fast speed, long range tracking ability. It is highly accurate that measures the slightest tremor of a patient’s hand or arm, the subtle movement on the barrel of a gun with reliable and repeatable results. Motion Tracking is the process of tracking the live movement. Its applications can be found in many different fields ranging from military implementation to medical applications to entertainment and for validation of computer vision and robotics. The project gives the techniques to improve the flexibility of motion tracking system based on the inertial measurement units (IMUs). The MPU-9250 (Motion Processing Unit) is the world’s smallest 9-axis Motion Tracking device used for wearable sensors that contains 3-axis gyroscope, 3-axis accelerometer and an onboard Digital Motion Processor (DMP) capable of processing complex Motion Fusion algorithms and the leading 3-axis digital compass. A miniature wirelessly tracking sensor is built by integrating an IMU, a WiFi module and a power supply and the motion data is optimized through 3D processor. The user wears it and achieves exact tracking performance and make predefined motion gestures. Through object segmentation processing, 3D positions of the objects are computed. The motion gestures are found corresponding to 3D position trajectories. This wearable sensor can also be demonstrated by applying it to virtual environment navigation and interactive entertainments.
