Catalonia, Andalusia, the Valencian Community and the Community of Madrid together account for around 65 percent of the total number of laboratories. Despite the aforementioned trend of increasing business concentration, the sector continues to show high atomization. Thus, the first two companies / groups in the sector gathered, in 2019, 6.9 percent of the total market value, while the share of the first five operators stood at 13.2 percent.
