The mid-range Ténéré from Yamaha is upgraded to the Ténéré 700 Rally Edition. It receives a coloring reminiscent of successful Dakar times and a variety of high-quality accessories. In addition to the blue and yellow paintwork, which should remind of the Dakar factory machines based on the classic XT500, there are additional protective elements thanks to a robust engine protection plate, radiator guard and chain guard. A lightweight Akrapovič slip-on muffler is said to provide rich, deep and robust sound. There are also grip pads on the tank, off-road handles and an aggressive rally front with four LED headlights and LED indicators at the front and rear.
However, a rally seat was installed, which catapulted the already leggy Ténéré to a seat height of 895 millimeters. An ascent aid is not included in the standard scope. Even other important essentials for adventure travelers can only be retrofitted to this special model. A main stand (around 285 euros) or the adventure footrests for a secure stand (around 153 euros) are missing.
In addition to the seat height, the price for the Ténéré 700 Rally Edition also rises to lofty heights. The price is a whopping 10,999 euros plus additional costs, a sum for which there are already machines with significantly more displacement and more power. From this month it will become clear whether the legendary status of the Dakar history justifies this. The Ténéré 700 Rally Edition will then be available from Yamaha dealers.
