Bollywood actor Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed Jafri who was known for his stage name Jagdeep took his last breath today. He was known for his memorable character of Soorma Bhopali from Sholay took his last breath on Thursday. The actor was 81 years old.

Javed Jaffery’s father Jagdeep was mostly seen doing comic roles in the films. He was also seen in films like Purana Mandir, Qurbani, Shehenshah will also be remembered.

2020 is definitely the worst year for Bollywood as he is the 5th bollywood icon to have died in under 3 months after Rishi Kapoor, Irrfan Khan, Sushant Singh Rajput & Saroj Khan.

The actor also made a film titled as Soorma Bhopali in 1988. He wore the director’s hat with this film and Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Rekha made cameo appearances in this film. Jagdeep’s grandson Meezaan Jaffery was launched by Bhansali production in Malaal.
