259356 - Support for the Freedesktop.org XDG Base Directory Specification
It has been quite some time since last review... Is there someone else that I can add as a reviewer here? This is very low priority, but there must be some dev who wants this feature and could review this code...
Is this really that difficult? At this point I would appreciate throwing everything into ~/.local/share/mozilla (XDG_DATA_HOME) or something, anything to keep that folder out of my home directory. Firefox must be really complicated if this takes more than a decade to fix...
I would need that Firefox stores the files following the XDG spec instead of me having to place them in the exclusion list of my backup. It's very very long time, I can't see how this can be a so low-priority to rest opened during 15 years.
Any updates on this? It's been a long time since there was any communication from the maintainers about this bug, and 15 years since it was opened. I was curious if anyone is looking into it?
