Researchers at the US National Institutes of Health recently released a study based on preliminary data from The Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development. The study included 11,000 9- to 10-year-olds in 21 locations across the United States. Here are two major results.

1.* MRI scans of children who used to play smartphones, tablets or video games for more than seven hours a day showed a clear difference in the brains of some children.

2.* Children who spent more than two hours a day in front of the screen, their thinking comprehension and language test came to a low score.

Brain scans showed that children who watched too many screens had premature thinning of the cerebral cortex. In brain functions, the function of this membrane is to work on different types of information from the senses.

If this difference is revealed after a brain scan of some children, then the question arises as to whether the brain membrane was being affected due to these changes or the child was more inclined towards the screen due to the membrane being affected.
