In an Interview, Always Try To Negotiate From a Position of Strength
What is the right time to look for another job when you already have one? Most people start seeking another job when they are in a vulnerable position at a company or the company is in a bad situation.
Also, many start to look for a job when they are not happy. At any rate, I believe programmers can plan and act better. Of course, if you fall into those kinds of bad situations, you should look for another job. But in my experience, it’s better to act before you fall into those situations.
At the beginning of my career, I didn’t think much about my career. I only focused on my skills. And that’s good for beginners and interns.
Then one day, I got fired from my job without any prior hints. I was so devastated. With that said, I believe it was good for my career. I found a better job after getting fired and learned a lot from it.
But I have always felt insecure after that experience. It also slapped some sense into me. Why should programmers wait until they are vulnerable or unhappy to look for their next job?
