It is common for the new founder to find themselves puzzled when almost everyone leaves amazing reviews on their first day of using the product yet never returns. Sometimes they don't even have the platform or time to leave reviews, but the traffic data shows a decline in usage. So many people flocking to test and then leave. I know this from experience in launching Clariss, my color palette generator. I shared it on Reddit and other platforms. So here is what I think are some of the reasons why it happens:

1. It's cool, but they don't need it That is a hard truth to swallow, but it is what it is. It is not rare to see something somewhere and think, "Look! That thing can do this and that. It is so cool". But when you look at yourself, you have no application for it in your life. That is different from "Damn! I have been looking for something like this" That spells need. That is a problem solved.

2. How easily replaceable is your product? Sometimes it's about the competition. People use your product and love it, but then they forget the name or address. When they need such a service, they just search for a tool that does that on Google and use whoever's product comes first. For instance, let us look into a tool such as a DNS lookup tool. For such a tool, the big part is about SEO. People might use yours and love it, but when they want to look up a DNS, it is easier to search for a  "DNS" lookup than to recall your link address.
