A few years ago, I joined a new team and immediately noticed a problem with how we managed our work. We faced persistent struggles with our outdated project management system, and despite the challenges, the rest of the team was hesitant about change. However, leadership decided it was time to upgrade and introduced a modern (Agile) tool to help streamline workflows and enhance collaboration.

The initial phase was rough. Adapting to the new system brought missed deadlines and noticeable tension among the team members. Being one of the team's newer members allowed me to adapt faster without the same discomfort. However, it stood out to me that some of the most senior engineers I’ve met were the most resistant to what (I thought) should’ve been a no-brainer change.

Eventually, over time, the benefits became apparent. Automated workflows minimized repetitive tasks, and real-time communication tools reduced the need for constant meetings. Within a few months, our productivity levels had improved dramatically.
