CLEAN ENERGY XXI. Creativity and solar energy continue to grow in leading companies in Brazil. Recently PepsiCo, one of the world's largest food and beverage companies, and Sunew, a world leader in the production of third-generation solar power technology, have teamed up to develop a pioneering solar power project for distribution trucks. Sunew initiated the installation of Photovoltaic Organic Films (OPV) in ten vehicles in PepsiCo's distribution fleet, in a pilot project to improve the management of vehicle battery recharging and its lighting system. A report collected by Energía Limpia XXI highlights the importance of this innovative and eco-friendly initiative whose vision is to expand the clean energy solution to the entire fleet of the company.

“PepsiCo is committed to making its logistics chain increasingly sustainable, combining the provision of supplies to consumers with economic and social development, while helping to protect the planet and reduce impacts. This project in alliance with Sunew, along with other initiatives such as the inclusion of CNG and electric powered vehicles, aim to contribute to mitigating our CO2 emissions in the environment, with a global reduction target of 20% by 2030 ”Says Eduardo Sacchi, senior director of supply chain at PepsiCo Brazil.
