While content creation is one of the most effective ways for a tech startup to build organic awareness and highlight their product, such directives actively prioritize new content without factoring in the requirements of maintaining what already exists.
When the goal of DevRel content is to build developer love and support, a successful content strategy should balance between the creation of original content and time for effective maintenance of the existing work. Without such a balance, just like with technical debt, DevRel Debt can sneak up over time, creating lasting negative consequences for the company.
