Lisbon, Jul 5 (EFE) .- The Portuguese right-hander Mário Coelho died today in his hometown of Vila Franca de Xira at 84 years of age, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The bullfighter, one of the most outstanding in the history of Portuguese bullfighting, had been hospitalized in the Vila Franca de Xira hospital since June 26.
The matador began his career as a brilliant silver man, especially in the gang of the Zamorano bullfighter Andrés Vázquez, although he was also a junior of Santiago Martín "El Viti" or Luis Miguel Dominguín.
Antonio Bienvenida himself encouraged him, when he was a banderillero, to forge himself as a bullfighter, a profession in which he later shone in the rings of Europe and America.
