Internationally acclaimed academician Dr Mughees uddin Sheikh passes away
LAHORE: Internationally acclaimed academician, former dean of Punjab University, former director of Institute of Communication Studies and teacher of thousands of journalists has passed away here on Wednesday while battling COVID 19. He was 69.
He was shifted on a ventilator when his health deteriorated. Dr Mughees Uddin was a renowned international scholar, educationist and analyst. He was serving as Dean Media and Commutation Studies, University of Management and Technology.
He was buried at PU Graveyard. Renowned personalities from all walk of life including Prof Dr Shafique Jullandhry, Salman Ghani, Najam Wali Khan, Farid Paracha, Atta ur Rehman, Salman Abid, PUASA President Prof Dr Mumtaz Anwar Chaudhry, Adnan Rashid, Rauf Tahir, Dr Mughees son Ali Mughees Tahir and large number of his students participated in his funeral.
Taking to twitter Dr Mughees students and admirers praised him for his commitment to promoting the culture of debate and research in Pakistan and praised him for promoting Pakistan’s positive image around the globe.
