TEL AVIV, Israel and MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 30, 2024 — NextSilicon, a pioneer in high-performance computing (HPC) innovation, today announced its emergence from stealth with the launch of Maverick-2, the industry’s first Intelligent Compute Accelerator (ICA).

Maverick-2 introduces intelligent software-defined hardware acceleration that delivers real-time adaptability and unmatched performance. This new technology is designed to deliver superior performance and efficiency for HPC, AI, and vector database applications.

In addition to unveiling Maverick-2, NextSilicon showcases its robust financial positioning with $303 million in funding from prominent investors such as Aleph, Amiti, Liberty Technology VC, Playground Global, Standard Investments, StepStone, and Third Point Ventures. This strong financial backing, combined with groundbreaking innovation, positions NextSilicon to reshape the future of high-performance computing with its revolutionary Intelligent Compute Accelerator (ICA) architecture.

“Sandia National Laboratories is already using new Maverick-2 accelerators in anticipation of our deployment later this year of our new integrated system – named Spectra – which will be delivered in 2025,” said James H. Laros III, Distinguished Member of technical staff and Vanguard program lead. “Our partnership with NextSilicon, which began over four years ago, has been an outstanding example of how the NNSA laboratories can work with industry partners to mature novel emerging technologies. NextSilicon’s continued focus on HPC made them a prime candidate for the Vanguard program.”
