David Schwimmer says he never agreed that the Friends series was starring only white people.

Despite being a beloved sitcom that is adored by millions of fans, Friends is often criticized for its lack of diversity and its all-white main cast.

In a recent interview with an entertainment portal, David Schwimmer, who played Ross in the series, admitted that the cast of the show was "bleached" on purpose. He added that the lack of people of color felt "bad" to him.

The actor also added that his character, Ross, should have been able to date several women of all colors and races. Ross was the only character on the show to date two non-white characters.

Aisha Taylor as Charlie and Lauren Tom as Julie were the two most prominent women of color who received major roles on the show after they started dating David Schwimmer's character Ross.
