When I recently logged out from my Slack account due to issues I've had with getting notifications for some instant messages people were sending me I was just flabbergasted to see that Slack nowadays is completely full of ads and other spammy messages.

Note that I understand that you would suspect getting ads if you are using the free version of Slack but when you are a company that pay thousands of dollars for a product, the amount of ads you get is pretty ridiculous.

It's obvious that they are trying to push their probably shitty AI service since they want all employees to send a request to their superiors to enable their AI service. But the issue is that the ads are just in the way hindering me from getting my work done and is a very annoying distraction.

I have no idea who thought this was a good idea on a paid service. I understand that you want to make money Slack but this is just not the right way to do it. The most annoying thing is that even if you close down these ads, they will return in the future making you annoyed again and again until you finally give up and enable the AI service (they hope).
