Lemons are more expensive than petrol? What is the reason behind the #inflation? Lemons are sold for about 15 rupees & other items like oil, sugar, groceries price go higher about 30%, 70% & 200% respectively. How does #PetrolDieselPrice affect the #Pricehike of daily items? There are 2 types of #inflation 1. Demand-Pull Inflation: Where people have enough #MONEY to spend & the demand increases simultaneously, then the price also rises accordingly. Like the Alphonso mangoes demands are high, so the exporters earn 10x times more than domestic ones. 2. Cost-Push Inflation: Where the demand remains the same, but the price rises because of the shortage of essential items like fuels. During the #RussiaUkraineWar, the #CrudeOil prices go higher because of the #sanctions on Russia(One of the largest exporters of crude oil). India imports 90% of #Sunfloweroil from Russia & Ukraine. India also imports 85% of #CrudeOil from other countries. Because of the #Pricehike of these essential items, other necessary items' prices shoot in the sky. But, what about lemons? India does not import lemons. #AndhraPradesh is the largest producer of lemons. But, because of the catastrophic rains in the southern part, the crops were destroyed. The #exciseduty on oil makes transportation costly, causing #Pricehike. Solution: India's #railway is the 4th largest and 75% of that is electrified already.
