The Goldberg Variations
In my last article, I wrote about a particularly vile online subculture known as foodists - a group of mostly underage Discord users known for their “ironic” sadism and degeneracy; particularly, spamming child porn and gore and grooming other minors into self-harm and suicide. I included a screenshot of myself saving a 14-year-old girl from one of their child sextortion Discord servers, which, of course, caught their attention:
The server in the screenshots above has now been shut down. Four “Totencord” servers have been shut down in the last 24 hours. I have been working closely with people who has been actively infiltrating their servers and getting them banned, along with reporting them to law enforcement.
What I did not realize when I was first tipped off about the Totencord server was that they would, in a matter of days, groom a minor into carrying out a mass shooting in Nashville.
On January 22, 2025, 17-year-old Solomon Henderson carried out a mass shooting at Antioch High School in Nashville, Tennessee before committing suicide. Henderson, I quickly learned, was hanging out in many of the same online circles that I frequent - particularly the soysphere, whose users are known as “soyteens”. Indeed, I first learned of the shooting from a thread on Soyjak Blog announcing that “ A black soyteen shot up a school.” Along with unsurprisingly being a member of Watch People Die as well (whose sister site rDrama I used to be an administrator on), Solomon Henderson, it was soon discovered, was closely associated with “ironic” pedophile sextortion groups like 764 - in fact, the exact same ones that I had written about only a few days prior to the shooting.
