Removing OpenVPN 15th January 2026

If you make use of our Mullvad VPN app on any platform, it will not impact you at all. Note that OpenVPN support will be removed from both client- and server-side, meaning that even if you have an old app with OpenVPN support, it will not work after 15th January 2026.
If you are using a router or a third-party app that uses OpenVPN, we strongly advise you to start migrating to WireGuard. You have roughly one year to complete your migration. We have guides on how to use WireGuard in the help section of our website.
