I’ve always loved the scene in Ironman when upon rising in the morning, the curtains are opened, coffee starts brewing, music starts playing and pertinent information pops up on display.

I wanted to try to implement something similar as part of daily routine. Usually, most of the information I’d like to see for my day is usually buried in app somewhere. Instead of having a zen morning, I find myself doom scrolling through all my apps: Calendar, News, Weather, Bank Balance, Sleep Score, Body Fat, Crypto, Finance.

Of course, Apple has wisened up to this idea as well with “Siri Suggestions” which uses ML to supposed to suggest apps and other important information to you, but most of the time it never presents anything useful. iOS 14 also has the “Smart Stack” feature which shows you calendar, photos, your location, music … all things that aren’t really relevant.

There are also services like IFTTT, https://github.com/huginn/huginn and Home Assistant that attempt to solve this problem but they never quite worked how I wanted. I want useful and relevant information customized for me, delivered when I want it so I decided to write my own.
