Hello everyone! I’m Shivam Rishi, and welcome to my very first blog post on Medium. My journey with building apps started in 2015 when I was just 16. Back then, I created QuoteU by learning through YouTube tutorials, monetizing solely with ads because I knew nothing about marketing, ASO, or subscriptions. Fast forward to my RevenueCat Hackathon project, Bluogs: Mood Tracker, where I first discovered how subscriptions work — it turned out to be easier than I had imagined. Now, I’m thrilled to introduce PostPocket, my newest indie side project that earned $625 in just two months and is still on an upward trend.

During my daily commutes, I found myself scrolling through countless articles on data structures, interview tips, and app design. I loved discovering these gems, but saving them was always a chore. Most existing bookmarking solutions required creating an account, and I wasn’t comfortable navigating extra hoops or exposing my data. I also wanted to avoid copying and pasting links or snapping screenshots (which I often lost in my cluttered photo gallery).

That’s when I realized I needed a lightweight, privacy-friendly solution to save links quickly without leaving my scrolling zone. By relying on local storage, and saving only links can make the app privacy-free. It started as my personal sidekick for storing valuable reading material, but soon, I saw that others might benefit, too — so I turned it into an official app: PostPocket.
