The Insane Development behind the Israeli Iron Dome system
First of all, The Iron Dome is a mobile all-weather air defense system developed by Rafael Advanced Defense Systems. The system is designed to intercept (destroy) short-range rockets and shells fired from distances of 4 kilometers to 70 kilometers away.
Additionally, the 2006-Second Lebanon War, where approximately 4,000 Hezbollah-fired rockets killed 44 Israeli civilians and caused 250,000 Israeli citizens to evacuate to other parts of Israel, furthermore led to calls for an Air Defense system.
Development of it was started in Early 2007, and was declared combat-ready not even 4 years later. (Which is very fast for military technology)
