Creating Data Together: Improving Urban Transport Management in Mexico – A Trufi Webinar
Join us on November 6 at 9:00 AM Mexico time (15:00 UTC) for the live launch of a new project in collaboration with German technical cooperation (GIZ) Mexico. This initiative, alongside local partners in Oaxaca and Toluca, aims to create open transport data to improve urban mobility.
The webinar, conducted in Spanish, will cover the project’s approach and methodology to drive better public transportation systems through open data collaboration.
A key part of the webinar will cover how open data can transform transport management. Trufi Association, along with Codeando México, Co.Mapper, and Humanitarian OpenStreetMap (HOTOSM), will share their roles in mapping, fieldwork, and building local communities that will contribute to this vital open-data project. These efforts are foundational to understanding and enhancing urban mobility needs, particularly in rapidly growing areas.
The project not only brings technical expertise but also prioritizes community involvement. The webinar will demonstrate how a bottom-up approach — working directly with community members — provides data that is not only accurate but relevant to those who use these transport systems daily.
