turtleSpaces programs can be simple or exceedingly complex -- but you do not need to know how to do complex things in order to do simple ones.

This makes it perfect for learning how to code, since you can accomplish simple tasks, such as moving the turtle, with little fuss. However, there are hundreds of built-in 'primitives' of varying complexity that are there to support you as you advance to create increasingly more complicated activities (called procedures).
