Gen Zers like other generations although they don’t roll with Millenials or Gen Xers. They’re developing their own society----with apps like BeReal and Snapchat. In April, BeReal -- a social media platform blew up significantly throughout the world as Gen Z have logged in spending time the majority of their time viewing people’s lives and sharing their own personal lives on that platform.
Gen Z experiment with numerous social media platforms and observe what they seem to like about it. Gen Z is the most hyper-energetic generation yet - aside from Gen Alpha which in a decade or so will beat them.
When auditing numerous platforms, adolescents observe what they like about and foster other peers of there’s to join them in using that platform. While older generation seem to observe social media as a distraction, Gen Z views it as an digital extension into what’s going on in reality and how to attract themselves in those realms that are being represented in posts. They observe what they resonates, experiment, and initiate that spark across their peers, driving people to follow the realm of the metaverse.
To Gen Z, these platforms aren’t just for viewing -- it’s about who’s on it. They spread apps like inferno, turning niche tools into viral hubs for peers and group chats. Honesltly, older generations must be worried about their adolescents being attracted to these social media platforms. Who knows? In a few years, will the Trump administration take a grip on this use of social media of Gen Z? Or will AI platforms become the default button for kids first thing in the morning when they wake up? Time will tell--but one thing is for sure: Gen Z is definitely evolving the use of Internet in real time.
