In mid-2024, a TiVA FC was installed in connection to the newly built fish migration path at Slussen in Stockholm. This long-awaited passage allows fish to freely migrate between Lake Mälaren and Saltsjön at Söderström for the first time in almost 400 years!

A PASSAGE FOR WEAK-SWIMMING FISH As part of the reconstruction of Slussen, a new fish migration path has been constructed under the northern sluice quay on the side of Gamla Stan. The old Nils Ericson sluice has been converted into a passage to facilitate the free movement of weak-swimming species such as eel, roach, and perch – species that were previously hindered by human infrastructure.

FISH COUNTER WITH CLOUD PLATFORM The TiVA FC fish counter delivers high-quality results, both in image quality and AI-based species- and length classification. At Slussen, we have installed a larger model of the TiVA FC, with tunnel dimensions of 50x50x140 cm (compared to the standard model’s 30x40x100 cm).

As with all our fish counters and underwater cameras, the TiVA FC at Slussen is connected to our cloud platform fiskdata.se. Here, data is available for both the client and, in this case, for the public. The platform also offers reporting tools for collected data, which are continuously updated.
