Data from eBay indicates that scalpers have resold over 100,000 Nvidia RTX 3000 graphics cards, often at twice their normal price.

The analysis comes from eBay’s own research tool, Terapeak, which tracks the prices of products sold on the site. In April, the company made the tool freely available to all sellers.

The Terapeak data shows scalpers have collectively earned over $100 million by reselling Nvidia’s latest graphics cards since their launch in September. For example, PCMag queried "RTX 3070" for the category "graphics/video cards," and got the results below for eBay.com

The data shows the RTX 3070, a $499 and up product, was usually resold on eBay for twice or sometimes three times the normal pricing. Around 44,000 units were sold on the platform for a $47 million in sales. The same trends occurred for the RTX 3080, which normally starts at $699.

However, the results above only apply to eBay.com, a US-based website. If you query for RTX 3080 across all eBay sites, which include the UK, Australia, and France, you get an even higher sales volume figure at 76,000 units.
