That's so true, I wish people would code more efficiently for today's problems. I find refactoring and engineering an inevitable occurrence regardless of how much future proofing took place.

Just make sure the code you're writing is clean and organized. If it is, people will be able to modify it as needed in the future... *If* it's indeed needed.
