This calculator tells you the relative weight for a vote in the 2024 US Presidential election, given the State. That is, by choosing a State below, the value in the table will show you the relative weight of a vote in that State compared with your chosen State. 

For example, if you chose California as your State, then the table would show that the relative weight for Alaska is 3.04. This suggests that an Alaskan's vote carries 3.04 times more weight in the Presidential election than yours. See discussion under "How the calculator works" for more details.

The State that has the highest weight vote is Wyoming , with 150,422 voting age citizens per electoral college vote. The lowest weight vote belongs to Florida , with 598,282 voting age citizens per electoral college vote. 

This calculator uses the 2022 data on voting age populations by state, as well as the number of electoral college votes for 2024 , to work out what the voter weight is for each state, allowing a comparison to be made.
